Guitar Update: Students this week figured out melodies on the E and B string and figured out major scales using only one string. Learning by ear is an important skill, especially when using folk instruments. Looking ahead to next week, we will be tackling the two octave major scale! We can play solos and melodies from this scale. Next week students will also be getting a new song... still a surprise!
We welcome in January with guitars! Students are welcomed to bring in their personal guitars and may store them on the guitar rack next to the library during the school day.
Quiz: Guitar Parts and String Names Friday, January 8th Our rhythm and meter unit is coming to a close. The students will be having a test in class next week. The students have completed a practice exam and gone over it in class. The test will be similar to the practice test given. The best way to study is to use the practice test.
