NO MUSIC HOMEWORK THIS WEEK :) Check out the video of the week or the composer of the month page instead! If you still do not have a binder and 3 dividers, please get this as soon as possible. Coming prepared to class with all materials makes up a part of your participation grade! ALWAYS BRING RECORDERS! Keep them in your backpacks so they go home and come to school every day! Check out this recorder video! It has a soprano, alto, tenor, and bass recorder! I showed you in class a sopranino, soprano, alto, and tenor! So glad to have you back again this year! To make sure our year starts off without a hitch, please make sure you have the following accomplished BEFORE your first music class next week.

BRING YOUR RECORDERS NEXT WEEK!!!!!!!!!! :)
We just started to learn the G chord! Next we will learn the D chord and be ready to play our first song. Take a look at this arrangement. It shows you where the chords go! In class we have learned the names of the strings, how to tune the ukuleles, and we have just started learning to read chord charts. Check out this page where the diagram below is from. It goes over basic chords. You can review at home or even play if you have one!
Composition Homework Due: Monday 1/25/2016
Playing Exam: Friday 1/22/2016 on Cockles and Mussels (see below). Students will be graded on pitch accuracy, rhythmic accuracy, and tone quality / breath control. Han Solo needed lots of help from friends this past weekend to defeat Kylo Ren which is why your entire table needs to play the theme from star wars together. Everyone plays -- any part! If the whole table works together, you will be earning your Star Wars Belt! What will you be graded on? Playing the following line in the recorder one part: You must play the correct notes with a steady beat. (no matter how slowly you play them) Quiz Friday Full copies of the parts are below! Each student received a fingering chart in class which they can use for any unknown (or forgotten) notes!
